Google AdSense approval is always a part of discussion amongst webmasters. We all know that Google AdSense is the World’s largest Pay per Click (PPC) advertising program. Every blogger and Webmaster dream to monetize their blog and make money online through Google AdSense.
Many Bloggers have different reviews on Google AdSense and making money from it.
Some say it is difficult to monetize and earn money from Google AdSense.
Some say it easy to monetize but difficult to generate good income.
For some bloggers, it is very easy to monetize and earn money from Google AdSense.
Different people have different reviews. Both people who say that it is easy to earn from AdSense and those who find it difficult is right. It’s their personal experience. Anyone can get perplexed, especially if new to blogging and Internet Marketing. Nobody would want their experience to be that bad that they leave blogging. So it is important that you see the right picture. It is all about how you keep the basics right. In this article, I am going to illustrate 10 basics but the key things that you need to take care, before applying to Google AdSense.

Always prefer to use top-level domains. Using the top-level domain shows how professional you are. If you are using a free blogging platform like WordPress.com and Blogger, then immediately buy a top-level domain instead of sub-domain. Most people do not like to visit subdomain. Many people still use subdomains for their blog on Blogger and WordPress, but for this, you need very high-quality content.
2. >2. Domain Age: Domain Must Be 6 Months Old
Google did not introduce this rule for any reason. Google makes money from their AdSense program and they want to promote AdSense as much as possible. However, Google introduced this rule to ensure the overall quality of the AdSense program is not compromised. So make sure your domain is 6 months old and you are actively posting content on it.
3. >3. Website Layout
Website Layout is very important when it comes to Google AdSense approval, a whole chapter can be written on website layout for AdSense. However, make sure you do not use too many colours and patterns in the background. In a simple word, the layout should be neat and clean with maximum two to three colours. Consider using black text over a white background.
Moreover, you should optimize your website for all devices (Laptop, Desktop, and Tablets & Mobile). Google considers a responsive layout for Google AdSense.

a. >a. Minimum Posts / Articles / Pages
It is recommended that you maintain a minimum of 30 pages, but if you are using WordPress for your blog or website then you need to maintain 40 posts at least. Every article/post is considered to be a page on your website. So consider this as a major part of your website.
Apart from a number of pages always focus on quality content rather than quantity. A maximum number of posts will never make you eligible for AdSense unless you have quality in your articles.
Avoid copyright content materials and never-ever copy-paste content from any other’s website.
b. Ab>b. About Usstyle="text-align:justify">About us is the page which is very important and it should be filled with the correct and required information. You should write about your website or blog. Google and your audience look for what your website is all about. If you put the mission and vision statement, it will leave an immense impression to your audience and it will play a very critical role in Google AdSense approval.
d. Ow>d. Own Email ID:style="text-align:justify">You must be having your own professional e-mail id and it’s a better idea to apply for AdSense with the same email address. Instead of Gmail, Yahoo! or Bing, you can apply with [email protected]
5. Qual>5. Quality Contenttyle="text-align:justify">“Content is the King.” Ask a thousand bloggers and thousand will say yes to quality content. Provide quality content that gives value to your audience. Google loves this blog, which provides quality content to their audience.
Writing high-quality content should be the highest priority for every blogger. It does not only help you get Google AdSense approval but also a key aspect of any SEO strategy. Moreover, readers will actually stay on your website and bounce rate will be very less. Low bounce rate will eventually improve your search engine visibility. That means more traffic, more engagement; more traffic and engagement means more page views, and more page views bring you more revenue.
When you have this much of benefits then why not focus on writing quality content.
Apart from the quality content, you also need to take care of some other factors that affect your content. There are many things that Google considers in your content while crawling your website. Here are three things you need to correct before you apply to AdSense.

It gives a negative impact on your application so you should correct or remove these broken links. If you are using a WordPress platform for your website then you can use broken links checker plugin to identify broken links and fix it. Alternatively, you can use siteliner.com that helps you find duplicate content, broken links and generates whole website report.
b. Dupl>b. Duplicate Contenttyle="text-align:justify">Google has no tolerance for copied content. Before you apply for Google AdSense, please find duplicate content on your website if you have used and update the post. If you are not sure whether your content will be passed by Google or not, then you must check it with Copyscape or Siteliner.
c. Suff>c. Sufficient Content, Post Length & Quantitytyle="text-align:justify">I have heard many bloggers complaining that they have more than 60-70 post on their blog still Google rejected their AdSense approval. It is not only about having a sufficient number of posts; it is also about a number of words in your post. If your content is too short that means you might not have covered all the aspects and you should research more. If you look at the successful blogs, you will find those blogs have an average of 600 – 700 words in their post.
There is no official declaration about how much articles or content you must have on your blog before applying for Google AdSense. However, I personally suggest you have 30-40 high-quality articles on your blog in total.
Must have at least 3-4 blog posts in every category and tags you use on your blog.
Remember, you must have a minimum of 500 words in your article before you publish on your blog. This is standard practice. If you ask me, I would suggest you write a longer blog post. Write 1500-3000 words of articles. At the same time, you need to remember that you do not degrade the quality of the post or repeating the same thing repeatedly. Quality should be the first priority rather than going for quantity.
Your overall success depends on the quality of your content. Well thought out and well-written blog posts are a mark of any successful blogger. Always use the best resources to improve the quality of your blog post. Always consider reading as much as you can. The more you read, the more knowledge you get and you learn new things every day. This will bring freshness to your blog post and the audience will not feel bored.
d. Strict>d. Strictly Prohibited Contentle="text-align:justify">Google does not entertain several topics. Here are some of the strictly prohibited topics by Google.
- Violent content
- Adult content
- Offensive content
- Racial content
- Content related to drugs
- Content related to hacking
- Hateful content
6. Webmas>6. Webmaster & Analytics ToolsGoogle Analytics Code
Sign up for Google Analytics. While signing up process you are asked to enter the account name, website name, website URL and your geographical information. Once you fill up all the information, you need to click on “Get Tracking ID”. Now, you are asked to choose your country and accept the terms & conditions and once you submit, you get a universal tracking code. Just put this code in the header section of your website to get started with Google Analytics.
b. Google Web>b. Google Webmasters Verification Pagetext-align:justify">Complete the Sign Up process and log in to your Google Webmaster Tool. Click on “Add a Site”, then enter the URL of your website and verify your ownership by any of the suitable methods.
Must submit “robots.txt” and “sitemap.xml” files to webmaster tool. It will help your website links to list in Search engine result pages and improve Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
c. Bing Webmaster>c. Bing Webmaster Verification Page:-align:justify">Bing Webmaster Tools is quietly similar to Google Webmaster Tools. You can follow the same procedure while setting up your website in Bing Webmaster Tool and verify your ownership. Even here you have options available for robots.txt and sitemap.xml. Once you submit these files to Bing you get a dual advantage, your website appears in both Bing Search Engine & Yahoo! Search Engine once your request gets approved.
d. Sitemap.xml Pa>d. Sitemap.xml Page:-align:justify">Your website must have Sitemap.xml. Automattic’s Jetpack plugin is a by far the best way to generate the sitemap for your website. Once the sitemap is generated, submit it to the search engines so that it can index your site links and pages quickly.
Alternatively, you can also install the Google XML sitemap plugin. Install the Google XML Sitemaps to create the sitemap. If you are using other platforms you can create it online on https://www.xml-sitemaps.com. You just need to submit the URL of your website and with a single click “sitemap.xml” page gets generated. Place this generated page in the root directory of your website.
e. Robots.txt>e. Robots.txtgn:justify">This file gives instructions to the search engines, what to index and what not to in Search Engine Result Pages (SERPs). You just need to place /robots.txt after any website’s URL to get a clear idea about the robots.txt file. e.g., www.websitevidya.com/robots.txt.
Once you create the required robots.txt file for your website, just place it in the root directory of your website.
7. Decent Alexa Rank &a>7. Decent Alexa Rank & Traffic::justify">Your site should have a minimum of 50 unique visitors a day. I would personally suggest you to have at least 100 visitors a day on your website, your chances of getting qualified for the AdSense becomes even better.

Your website should have decent Alexa ranking to get AdSense approved. Even if your site doesn’t have a decent Alexa rank, you can still apply but chances are quite less to be taken into consideration. So it’s always a great idea to improve your website rank and keep it under 500-400k. Here is a small tip to build traffic on your site and get a good rank on Alexa:
- Post good content. It will attract your visitors to revisit your website.
- Always bring call-to-action to play whenever possible. By doing this, people will click more and get involved on some other pages.

8. Choose Images Wisely>8. Choose Images Wisely">Images make your blog look appealing so it is very important that you choose the right images. It does not mean that you just Google the images, manually pick and add into your blog post. This is not going to make your way easier. Both Google and the copyright owner of those images will penalize you. It is better if you pick the creative commons images that you can use or modify as per your need for your blog post. Few awesome websites provide awesome quality of images. I personally, like to use Pixabay.

9. Contact Details
B>9. Contact Detailsle AdSense, do not forget to put your contact details on your website. It is important that you put your Name, Email Address. It will confirm your identity to the Google AdSense team. Moreover, it is social proof and social proof can help build trust with the audience.
10. Website Traffic
>10. Website Traffichave decent traffic on your blog before applying to Google AdSense. Even if you have little traffic as low as 50 hits per day, you can apply for the Google AdSense.
11. Stop Other Ad Network>11. Stop Other Ad Network ad places on your websites like Chitika, Clicksor or any other then it is a time to drop them off. Even Google AdSense allows you to use other Ad networks along with them but it is better to remove them before you apply to Google AdSense.
If you ha>12. Popupsd on your website, then you should limit them to maximum one or two before applying for Google AdSense. Google does not like popups. You can keep this under the limit; that is not going to harm your blog.
On the safer side, you can remove the popup and reactivate it once you get AdSense approved.
13. Check if Your Blog is Not B>13. Check if Your Blog is Not Blacklisted by Googleyour domain, you are not going to get Google AdSense approval in any case. It is better you first identify whether your blog is blacklisted or not.
How to check if Google blacklisted your domain?
Well, there are two ways:
Simply perform a Google Search with “site:your-domain-name.com”. In my case: “site:searchenginebay.com”. If you get your website listed in Google Search, it is an indication that you have not been penalized by Google.
You need not to afraid if you have a new blog and set up only a few days ago. Google indexing takes a couple of days. There might be a possibility that your blog pages are not yet indexed in Search Engine Result Pages (SERPs). Non-indexing doesn’t mean that you have been blacklisted.
